Family Photo Albums from the 1920's

Welcome to my Vintage Black Friday  post hosted by the French Cupboard . Today I have for your viewing pleasure, an old hat box that I found some time back in an antique mall for $7.00, which I thought was a great find as I like to store my laces and trims in items like this, though not shown, this one has a beautiful powder blue lining, the only problem is the zipper is starting to separate from one side just from age, if anyone can think of a great way to repair so it will still zip, let me know as there isn't much fabric to re-attach it to. The second vintage black are two Family photo albums that belonged to my parents when they were young. Some of the photos I'm not sure who the people are but must have been friends or relatives of my parents and then some are of my parents from when they were young. Really great originals and I will probably scan them and eventually use them in type of design. At least there won't be any copyright issues with using these photos!  I plan on restoring the albums so they will hold up longer as the larger one is getting very worn. I hope you enjoy this post and who knows maybe one day I'll actually get some vintage looking creation done with some of these treasures. I'm working in that direction but have spent quite a bit of time refining my computer/blogging skills. TIPS FOR TUESDAY Working on "BLOGGERETTE SORORITY" Rushing Project & Have Some Fun!

Nothing like a fun project to get you back in the creative mode! I've started working on my Bloggerette Sorority rushing project! I'm having lots of fun with it and can't wait to finish and show it off. Too much fun, well back to work and hopefully I'll be finished by the end of the week! Everyone needs to have a little fun in their day, so this is my "Tip for Tuesday", go create and have some fun while you're doing it. To me creating is relaxing!

FOUR SEASONS GIVEAWAY  "SPRING"

This is my Pink for this Pink Saturday and it does have some Pink in it so it counts! This is #1 of my Four Seasons Giveaway. It started last Saturday but due to the 9/11 Memorial I felt it should have its own post. The Spring birds nest is a vintage iron bird bath with a OOAK Paper Filigree Goose egg in a setting of shredded vintage papers and grasses with a Hummingbird attached on the side. The base is tied in a bow of antique lace and vintage jewelry pieces and a tiny angel fairy all from estate sales. I think the lace itself is over 75 years old. I'm celebrating my new blog makeover and thought I should celebrate it with a Giveaway to be held upon 300 Followers. If you are already a follower you are already in. In keeping with our thoughts of yesterday and all that was lost during 9/11 it is important to "Remember" not only for lives lost, families separated and children left behind without one or more parent. We must remember for the sake of future generations, our Children, our Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. 100 years from now it will be in history books and hard for the generation of that time to imagine. Today I "Dedicate to the Future Generations" including my own, may you always be safe and protected!

Now for the Giveaway, I'm so pleased to have my blog makeover just the way I wanted it, that I decided to celebrate it starting today with a progressive Giveaway to include all Four Seasons. The First Season is Spring and located on my Sidebar.  The Giveaway will include all followers to this that, so no one is left out but you can't be Anonymous since I would need to find you and you can't follow twice unless it is on each of my blogs and if you have more than one blog post my link on your sidebar for each one to count.  The more chances you will have to win are #1 Be a Follower, #2 blog about the giveaway to spread the word and #3 grab my button and place it on your blog any or all of them, #4 leave a comment ( so I'll know you were here) along with this to help me reach my goal of 300 followers. I'M TICKLED PINK!

This is a pink chenille bedspread made into a shower curtain with a liner underneath. I just matched up the holes for the hangers to the liner and did a buttonhole stitch to hang with ease. I love old chenille and thought I should have some out to enjoy. I loved the old look!

These are my pinks from the top of a cupboard in the same bathroom and the pink in the  chenille shower curtain  really matches to this shade better. I have been under the weather this week with some kind of intestinal virus so this is all I'm up to posting, hope you all have a very Happy Pink Saturday and Happy Labor Day! "FUN PHONE"  THIS FUN VINTAGE  LOOKING PHONE IS A REPRODUCTION OF AN ANTIQUE SEWING MACHINE WHICH I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED TO HAVE IN MY SEWING ROOM WHICH IS  DECORATED WITH MOST EVERYTHING SEWING RELATED, HOWEVER SINCE THERE WAS NO PHONE JACK IN THE SEWING ROOM, IT NOW SITS IN MY HALF, PAPER CRAFTING/BEDROOM STUDIO NEXT TO MY COMPUTER SO I DON"T HAVE TO RUN TO THE PHONE WHEN I"M ON LINE . IT ISN"T THAT LARGE MORE LIKE A HALF PINT MACHINE BUT I LOVED THE LOOK OF IT!  IT IS BLACK and VINTAGE LOOKING!
